LP To CD Software - It Can't Get Much Easier Than This

Why would one want to pay for LP to CD software, and then go to all the trouble of transferring all the music from the vinyl to the Compact Disc? Why not just buy the reissue of the original LP on a CD? Well, some people may have a very extensive collection of vinyl albums, and it would be a whole heck of a lot cheaper to convert them over to CDs than to buy every one. Additionally, while many popular LPs were reissued as Compact Discs, there are many albums that did not achieve great popularity, and were never reissued. If someone owns one of those albums and wants a copy on CD, they have no choice other than to burn it to a disc themselves.

Keep in mind that if one copies an LP to a CD, the CD may not be of what has come to be known as 'commercial CD quality'. While there are methods for reducing the transfer of noise present on the original recording, If the album is really scratched and filled with pops, clicks and hisses, it will probably be impossible to remove them all from the Compact Disc copy.

Going back a few years, before LP to CD software was available, it was a very complicated procedure to copy vinyl albums to Compact Discs. A number of different steps were required, and there was no universally accepted procedure. One needed lots of equipment in addition to a turntable and CD burner, such as amps, preamps, connectors, cables, and more. There were a number of tutorials available on the web that all seemed to vary from each other, and there were usually individuals who tried to follow all the steps and still ran into roadblocks.

Luckily, There are a number of different brands of conversion software that can now be purchased, and these products make the whole procedure a lot more simple. All you usually need is a turntable and your computer with a CD burner, in addition to the software. Some of these products can also convert audio cassete to CD, and many of them have preset modes that the user can choose to remove different types of noise or even record from a damaged LP. Also, many of these software programs can also copy to portable media players like iPods.

And for those who think that even using the LP to CD software is too much trouble, there are now electronic devices like the Teac GF-350 that do everything for you. They contain a turntable and a Compact Disc burner, and you just put your LP on the turntable and press 'play' then press 'record', and the machine does it all for you.
